Review: The Expendables 2

The first Expendables movie was the essence of a mindless summer blockbuster movie. As such, it had a decided lack of plot, great action, and cheesy one liners. Naturally this was critically panned and wildly successful, and guaranteed a sequel. So how does this sequel stand up to the original? Does it add anything to the first movie, or is it like The Hangover 2, wherein the plot is almost exactly identical? As it turns out, it's closer to the former than the latter, but some of the awesomeness is lost as a result.

Review: Being Elmo

With all of the recent attention that Kevin Clash has gotten as a result of recent sexual allegations, it's probably as good a time as any to review Being Elmo, the documentary about Clash and his path to becoming the puppeteer behind Sesame Street's Elmo. This is one of the few documentaries to detail Clash's life and career, and though there are elements that are missing, overall Being Elmo is a great look into the man that is Kevin Clash.

Review: 21 Jump Street

In this day and age, a good comedy film is harder and harder to make. This is especially true of comedy films that involve both high schools and cop movies, as both of these areas are so well traversed that it is almost impossible to avoid falling into reliable (but boring) tropes. Fortunately, 21 Jump Street avoids this, and even covers new territory while not being completely alien.
