War

The eternal struggle between two forces. From the dawn of time, even before man, beings on earth have always fought each other for survival, for mates, for everything. But it was man who first purposely attacked others of his kind for personal gain, to benefit himself, and not just for survival anymore.

From Rome, to Japan, to the United States, every country has experienced warfare of somekind. It has marked our greatest moments, from Lepanto to Agincourt, Hastings to Waterloo, The Battle of the Bulge, to Normandy, from Stalingrad to Korea, from Vietnam to Iraq.

You have no doubt figured out that the theme for the next few days is war. There will, of course, be reviews of strategy games involving fighting and warfare, peppered with various posts on how war changed society.

Let the battles begin.
